Preparatory Commission for the WNO
Since the WNO-Treaty is not yet in force, the Organization is called the Preparatory Commission for the World Nature Organization (WNO). The Preparatory Commission was commissioned in 2011 and it released the WNO Treaty in July 2012. The Treaty will be opened for signature on the upcoming conference in 2013 and thereafter at the Depositary Government. The WNO main tasks of the Preparatory Commission are the promotion of the Treaty and the build-up of the Organization so that it is operational when the Treaty enters into force.
