Selection criteria determined for the founding conference
The Preparatory Commission of the WNO has determined the selection criteria whereby the host country, which is to organize the founding conference of the WNO, is selected.
Geneva.– The Preparatory Commission has not only determined the selection criteria for the host country, but in a commission meeting it also set down the selection criteria, expectations and details for organizing the WNO founding conference. Accordingly, the founding conference is to take place in a country that pledges support to the prospective organization for setting up structures.
The founding conference will lay the cornerstone for the establishment and structure of the World Nature Organization. The Preparatory Commission has specific expectations in regard to the conference location. Safety and a role-model function in ecological matters are e.g. criteria that play a role in selecting the host country.
The Commission hopes for further applications from states striving to be the host nation for the founding conference. In cooperation with the initiators the Preparatory Commission wants to shape the organization and structure of the WNO so that specific projects can be scheduled in the near future. The WNO Treaty is to regulate the specific tasks and goals of the WNO, and it can be signed at the founding conference.
